Domestic Bliss

It's a Monday morning. We're up early so we can get Danny to school on time. The kids are sitting at the table finishing their pancakes. I'm still in my pajamas, carrying a laundry basket full of three loads of laundry that need to be folded (my absolute least favorite thing to do!), the kitchen sink is full of dirty dishes, and my floors are in need of a serious cleaning. Matt kisses me goodbye and I tell him to have a great day at work. I stop. I look around and think, when did we get here!? The college days are over. We don't fit into the newlywed category anymore. Nope, we're right smack in the middle of, what I like to call, domestic bliss.

Matt and I frequently have discussions about our future. We talk about all the things we are looking forward to. But truth be told, I'm in no rush. Sure, life isn't glamorous with a 2 year old and a 3 year old. It can be frustrating and terribly exhausing, but I guarantee that the time will come when my little monsters are all grown up and Matt and I are living the life that we've stayed up late so many nights talking about and I'll miss this. I'll long to relive just one hectic day filled with chaos, Dora cartoons, milk spills, and hearing,"Mommy, can you spin me around?" for the zillionth time in a row.

I definitely look forward to what the future holds, but life is good right now and I'm going to savor every moment.
