The beginning of the "Danny-isms"

Let me explain the whole "Danny-ism" thing. My nephew Tanner says some pretty funny things. One of my personal favorites,"Mom! Mom! Did you know Jesus wants ME for a sunbeam! We've coined his crazy phrases "Tanner-isms."
Now that Danny is talking more and more I'm going to have to start keeping track of his "Danny-isms."

So...This morning, a typical scene in the Jackson house, Danny is sitting at the kitchen table with his breakfast, hardly touched, asking if he can go play. As usual I tell him to take two more bites and then he can be finished. He puts his finger to his chin and looks thoughfully toward the ceiling. Then he replies,"My tummy told my mouth that that's bad news."

This one doesn't quite fall in the Danny-ism category, but it's blog worthy nonetheless.
The kids and I were playing with the Little People Castle this morning. I made some comment like,"Look at the beautiful Queen!," to which Danny replied,"Mom, you're a queen 'cause you're beautiful too." Needless to say, he's had a lot of extra treats today:)
Look out ladies. We've got quite the charmer on our hands!

The GREAT outdoors!

Matt and I have been dying to go camping. Unfortunately it is illegal most places here in Switzerland, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! If you knew the Swiss like we do it would make more sense. So we decided to head to Austria instead. We decided just to go for the day to see what it was like. It's not exactly what I would call camping. Everyone had their tents lined up in a big field. I prefer something a bit more secluded where I can be one with nature:) Despite all this, the area was still absolutely beautiful! The Mascaros and the Parrys joined us for a day of lounging by the river, swimming, catching trout in the pond and cooking over the fire. Despite the COLD temperature, it was great being in the water. Rach is my little water baby. I had to pull her out kicking and screaming after an hour because her lips were so blue.
A little later in the evening we attracted quite a bit of attention when we began roasting marshmallows. A great American tradition that most Europeans know nothing about. An old lady came up and asked if we were cooking cheese. Uh...no. Try explaining, in broken German, what a smore is:) Quite the challenge.

Five Years Ago Today

Provo, Utah sets the stage
For this little tale.
It was 2001.
I remember it well.

Who would have know then,
Things would turn out so nice.
Especially after I turned you down
...TWICE!!

Time kept moving on.
Soon it was 2002
And everywhere I went,
I would run into YOU!

So we went out to lunch.
It all went alright.
So good in fact,
I asked you out that same night!

For a while I thought,
This will be a fun fling.
But before too long I had a suspicion,
This might be the real thing!

We headed to Vegas.
It was then that I knew,
That I had completely
Fallen in love with you!

So we set off to meet my family.
To see what you were getting into I suppose.
I had no idea
It was your plan to propose!

You asked me to marry you.
Yes was all I could say,
And we married in the Oakland Temple
On a HOT August day.

Now after five years together
With a husband I adore,
We've gone from a couple
To a family of four.

Thanks for all the sweetness
You've brought to my life.
Happy Anniversary my Mattie!
Love Always,Your Wife

I wish you could see Matt's face better in the above picture. He looks terrified:)

LUSH GNO (girls night out)

Last Saturday the girls all came over for a night of pampering. Alyssa picked up some face masks, hair masks and foot scrub (aka marriage savers) from LUSH and we spent the evening snacking, watching chick flicks and beautifying ourselves. Thanks girls for a great time, delicious food, excellent company and as always fabulous conversation:)
