"I'm still having fun!!"

This is hands down Danny's most frequently spoken phrase. He says it at the most random times. The funniest thing is that he tends to say it more during the times when I'm certain he's really not having any fun at all. Take last night for example. Danny had a fever and sore throat all day. We put him to bed around 9 and he woke up close to midnight with a temperature of 106 degrees! We quickly gave him a fever reducer and put him in a luke warm bathtub. He was shivering and crying and SCREAMING, "I'm cold! I'm cold!" Once his temp dropped to 103 we tucked him back into bed. About five minutes later I heard him urgently yell out, "MOM!!!" I started going up the stairs and asked him what he needed. This is when I heard the infamous reply, "I'm still having fun." I told him I was glad, kissed him goodnight, and then sat with Matt and laughed for a good 10 minutes.

Since I'm on the topic of funny things my kids say, I have a couple more stories to share. My kids can throw tantrums with the best of them, but they can also me exceptionally sweet. They've learned this from hearing their Dad say sweet things to me all the time. Rach ran up to me in the kitchen while I was cooking dinner the other day, hugged my leg, and said, "You are such a wonderful girl!" She's always saying things to me like, "Mom, you're sooo lovely" or "You have beautiful long hair." Danny also throws his share of compliments my way. The other day he said, "Mom I love you! For your birthday I'm going to make you a cake with pink frosting and buy you a plant because I know you LOVE plants!" The rest of the conversation went something like this:

D- "Mom, I love you more than I love to ski."

Me- "Wow! That's a lot!"

D- " I love you more than I love the Christmas presents!"
(This was huge. Every single day he talks about how much he loved Christmas and how much he liked his presents)

Me- "Really Danny?! You love me more than all of your presents?"

D- "No Mom, not my Christmas presents, but I love you more than I love your Christmas presents."

Thanks Danny. That's um...sweet:)

Yesterday, I had to stay home from church with the kids since Danny was sick. We just got the new issue of the Friend in the mail so I decided to read them a story. Rach got excited and said, "I know the name of the "puppet" (prophet) of the church! It's Thomas S. the Train!"

Okay last one. This morning Rach brought me a pen and paper and asked me to draw Peter Pan. Then she asked me to draw Wendy and then Tinkerbell. Finally she asked, "Now can you draw Captain Hook sitting on the potty?" I don't where she comes up with these crazy ideas.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, yes, I did draw Captain Hook on the potty.
Careful with that toilet paper C.H.

Hey, I talked to Rach today who told me about Danny and Rachie...so sorry he's sick! I meant to call you tonight to see how he was doing. I hope you're doing okay too! Those quotes are so funny, I'm glad you put them down. I love that Thomas S. the Train is the prophet. That's great that they're giving you compliments too...that makes all the hard times so much sweeter!

Sorry everyone. I just don't think the world is ready for my artistic talents. Plus Matt threw it away:( Obviously he doesn't know valuable art when he sees it.
