I'm Vintage

Last week, I turned 26 years old. Seriously?! How did I go from a little girl making mud cakes in the backyard to a married mother of 2 in like 5 minutes?!!
With the help of my wonderful family and friends, my birthday was great. I decided this year, that instead of hoping my husband would read my mind and fulfill all of my birthday wishes, I would simply make a list of what I wanted and put it someplace where he would be sure to see it. I chose the toilet. I didn't request anything too lavish or crazy, I simply wanted to sleep in, have him watch the kids while I went on a run, and flowers or plants from my favorite floral shop, Immergrun. He threw breakfast in there all on his own. Not only that, but he took the day off from work along with the following Friday and Monday so we could have a fabulous five day weekend! He sure does set the bar high, don't you think?
After a realaxing morning, we took the kids swimming and then came home to have a BBQ with a few friends complete with brats on the grill, homemade German potato salad, birthday cake and, of course, some wii action. It's always entertaining to introduce the wii to Europeans who have never played before:)
And what birthday is complete without some sweet loot? I got a great leather ottoman from Matt, the cutest Roxy sweater ever (thanks Liss and Abe), and a gift certificate to Zappos, my favorite online retailer, from my sister and her fam!  I also got my favorite new pair of shoes from the Jackson crew in Florida.

They're called Sanuks, and they are actually sandals (or so they claim). Whatever they are, I love them! Matt bought a pair from Ron Jon's while we were in Florida a couple of months ago. I made fun of him and tried to convince him to just buy a pair of flip flops. Then I tried on a pair and I've been coveting them ever since. Thanks Jackson Fam!

My parents sent me...

I didn't know a lot about it before I got it, but it is so awesome! I thought it was hilarious that it came with a warning that others could potentially view your age and weight. Luckily, you can set up a password:) There are tons of activities to keep you active for hours. Thanks Mom and Dad!
I had a GREAT day and want to thank everyone who helped make it seem as though getting older is something worth celebrating:)

Happy Birthday Erin! Quite a few years back Grandma told me that you lose your Santa Claus priveleges when you get married. Obviously, you don't lose your birthday priveleges. It sounds like you had a great day with great fun and great gifts! Ten years really does feel like 5 minutes huh? I'm on the verge of my ten year high school reunion, Adam is turning 30, and I'm beginning to feel just the tiniest bit "old". I know a lot of people (older than me) will roll their eyes at that one. Oh well, I'm still seventeen at heart.

I wish I too could have been there with you! Remember the days when BK Hershey's pie was sufficient?

I love ya girl and I'm so glad that we have remained friends for so many years!

You deserve all the good things in your life!
