The two weeks we spent in Florida were an absolute blast. I love Matt's family and always enjoy the time we spend with them. It was slightly crazy in the house with 15 people and 2 bathrooms, but so fun to have everyone under one roof. The kids LOVE playing with their aunts and uncle!

My brother-in-law, Morgen, flew Matt, Maude (pronounced Mode-she flew in from Paris for Klarissa's wedding) and me down to Key West for the day. This is the first time we flew with Morgen since he got his pilots licencse. I was a bit nervous because that plane was so tiny! Other than getting slightly air sick, the flight was awesome. Once we arrived we headed out to sea on a huge catamaran for some snorkeling. Again, I had to endure some motion sickness, but still had a great time. We finished the day with dinner, some shopping and of course, key lime pie.

The Keys

Islands of Adventure
Wednesday, before the wedding, we went to Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park. We left the kids at home with Grandma and Grandpa since the park didn't have a ton of kid friendly rides. I missed having them there, but had so much fun acting like a crazy kid with my hubby and riding roller coasters until I was sick. (I really should stock up on dramamine before we vacation in Florida) After the park closed and everybody went home, Matt, Morgen and I stuck around for dinner at Bob Marley's. The food was awesome as was the atmosphere and the live entertainment.
I wish I had pictures of our last day. We went to Kelly Park for some wind surfing and kayaking. Matt's family friends own a wind surfing school and rental service there and were kind enough to let us use their gear. My sister-in-law Jen gave me a refresher course in wind surfing and we also spent about an hour out on the kayaks. We saw dolphins and also found a watermelon floating out in the middle of the water. Matt insisted on paddling out to get it. I had to give my hunter gatherer husband a bit of a hard time because just a couple of days earlier he was so determined to get a coconut. He disappeared for a while and came back covered in dirt and sweat with coconut in hand. He still won't tell me how he got up that tree. Once we got back to shore we cracked open the mysterious floating melon. I have to admit, it was the best watermelon I've ever had!
Hopefully I'll track down some pictures and post them soon.
We were so sad to say goodbye to Florida:(

Soon to come: California and Utah adventures, Our French Riviera trip and I think I've been tagged...

Your hair looks great! I kept looking at the pics going "where is Erin". I catch on pretty quick. Too bad we missed you this time, but we had a good time up the road in North Carolina. Love ya babe. Looking forward to August.
What an awesome trip! So I've been planning our trip to Florida/cruise so I'm calling you to find out what you liked best. A personal plane ride to Key West!? Lucky girl...I'm glad you made it back safe. :) The pictures look great too.
Erin-- I've heard a lot about how cute your hair is so I was happy to look at these pics and see it for myself. You and your family look so darling in the wedding photos! Danny in that little teeny tux! Ahhh! I love it! We miss you! When are you coming back?
Love-- Emily J.
