Buona Pasqua!

Whenever Matt has a long weekend we talk about all the different places we could visit. There are so many places in Switzerland that we still haven't seen, but we always end up in the same place...Italy. We can't help it. We just love being there! So, that's exactly where we ended up for the long Easter weekend. Thursday night we drove to Parma. Some good friends of ours (a family Matt knows from his mission-he lived in the apartment below them for 4 months)were kind enough to offer us their apartment while they were away.

Friday we headed to one of my favorite places, the Cinque Terre.

It was a bit cold and windy, but still so beautiful. I was so happy to find my favorite little bakery in Monterosso and indulge in, very literally, the BEST chocolate torte in the world!!! The first time we had it was 2 years ago when my sister and her husband were visiting and I've thought about almost everyday since. They also have amazing lemon torte and the most delicious onion foccocia.

Saturday was spent in the "fair city" of Verona. The day was spent lounging in the sunshine, visiting the shops and outdoor markets and, of course, eating.

Italy! Great food and beautiful surrounds. It is great that you are taking advantage of the fact that you are only a car ride away!
