Handbook for a Successful Road Trip with the Girls

-NEVER embark on Friday the 13th!

-When you plan on passing through 3 different countries, ALWAYS bring your passport.

-ALWAYS have a quality cooler that's sure to keep your food and drinks nice and cold. Wink Wink girls:)

-ALWAYS bring a blindfold and earplugs in case you end up staying somewhere with no curtains and loud parties.

-ALWAYS bring jumper cables...and know how to use them.

-ALWAYS wear bug repellent in case you encounter a freak invasion.

-ALWAYS bring a map, even if you're using a GPS. (Thanks a lot Lola! That road to A4 would have taken a huge leap of faith-check out the first pic below this list)

-ALWAYS be prepared for some extra special attention (aka stares) when you're driving a sweet car with sweet rims.

-Always wear comfortable shoes for running back and forth from shop to shop to compare prices and designs.

-ALWAYS be prepared to be a jerk in a serious traffic jam and take necessary action to achieve your goal. "WHAT DO WE WANT? POTTERY!!!"

This is the road that supposedly led to the freeway.

In case you're wondering what all this is about, I'll fill you in. This past weekend I took a road trip with a few of my good friends here in Switzerland. We went to Boleslawiec Poland, known for their handmade pottery. Over the course of two days, 26 hours of which was spent in the car, we had some pretty crazy "adventures." This included a two and a half hour detour, a dead car battery, being stuck for almost two hours at the Polish border, another detour through the bumpy country back roads in Poland and let's not forget being covered head to toe in little black bugs. Luckily, despite all this craziness, we made it and had three hours to shop before the stores closed. Then we turned around and headed home.

What a blast! It's been a long time since I laughed so hard I cried.

Thanks "Big Friend" for such a great weekend:)
